RaWiri Residents Association Incorporated Past and Present Events

On Monday 26th May, RaWiri Residents Association hosted a free community event at the Vodafone Events Centre.

250 people turned out to support students from local schools to showcase their talent in front of special guest judges Betty-Anne Monga (Aardijah), Ria (Winner), Lapi Mariner (Jamoa Jam) and Tom Natoealofa (TV 1 Presenter).

Amongst this inspiring group of local musicians and as our entertaining and eloquent MC Ma’a Brian Sagala would say, on the “wheels of steel” we have DJ Al Goodie (Niu FM).

The night was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the Wiri and Homai Neighbourhood Policing Team served up a Free sausage sizzle for all.

The winners of the Intermediate, Secondary and Community category, wowed us with their voices. Our stunning beat boxer in the community category had the audience breathless and awed.

Contestants received words of wisdom from each of the guest judges in pursuing a musical career and if you weren’t a performer a sure flame was ignited from what was heard.

The night was a successful night for RaWiri and we hope to make lock in this event annually.
